Overview
This year, 83% of respondents were male and 17% female. The majority of participants were from Singapore and India and were aged between 25-34 (64%). The greatest response was from Data Scientists (30%).
Is company size the key to happiness?
100% of our respondents in companies with 0-50 employees say they are unsatisfied with their salary. Companies with 51-200 employees also have high rates of dissatisfaction (75%). In contrast, larger scale businesses tend to have higher levels of happiness regarding pay. Companies with 1001-5000 and 10000+ employees are 100% satisfied.
This years top motivators for job search
The top reason to seek a new job in 2022 is for higher earning potential. Other motivators our respondents noted were to look for more meaningful work, work remotely/freelance, have greater progression opportunities and a better work/life balance.
Salary expectations are high
In the past two years, 46% of our respondents received a 0-5% pay rise.
When asked, ‘if you have been in your current role for less than two years, what percentage salary increase do you think is realistic?’ 33% of our respondents expressed they would expect an increase of 6-10%. A further 25% would like to see a 16-20% increase.
Only 46% think their current salary and package is satisfactory, which reflects the majority leaning towards higher salary increases on average.
